China has published this Friday a document regarding its position on the political solution of the Ukrainian crisis
, as reported by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the document,
Beijing sets out 12 points
that the parties involved could follow to resume negotiations and end hostilities:
Respect the sovereignty of all countries
Beijing advocates that the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all countries be "effectively defended".
“All countries, big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor, are equal members of the international community,” he stresses.
Abandoning the Cold War mentality
"The security of a region should not be achieved by strengthening or expanding military blocs," the document states, stressing that the legitimate interests and security concerns of all countries "should be taken seriously and addressed properly".
Cease hostilities
“All parties should support Russia and Ukraine to work in the same direction and resume direct dialogue as soon as possible, in order to gradually de-escalate the situation and ultimately reach a general ceasefire”, points to the text.
Resuming the peace talks
Dialogue and negotiation are "the only viable solution to the Ukraine crisis", emphasizes China, which assures that it will continue to play a "constructive role in this regard".
Resolving the humanitarian crisis
Humanitarian operations "should follow the principles of neutrality and impartiality, and humanitarian issues should not be politicized," the text reads.
In addition, it is urged to "support the UN" to play a coordinating role in channeling humanitarian aid to conflict zones.

Protecting the civilian population and prisoners of war
China supports the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, and calls on all parties to create more favorable conditions for it.
Keeping Nuclear Power Plants Safe
Beijing opposes armed attacks on nuclear power plants and calls on all parties to "respect international law, including the Convention on Nuclear Safety."
Reduce strategic risks
The document advocates preventing nuclear proliferation and avoiding nuclear crises.
"China opposes the research, development and use of chemical and biological weapons by any country and under any circumstances," he stresses.
Facilitate grain exports
All parties must apply "fully and effectively and in a balanced way" the Black Sea Grains Initiative, signed by Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the UN.
End unilateral sanctions
The Chinese government maintains that unilateral sanctions cannot solve the issue, they only create new problems.
"China opposes unilateral sanctions not authorized by the UN Security Council."
In the same way, it asks that the relevant countries stop abusing them and the "jurisdiction of long arms".
Keep supply chains stable
"All parties should seriously uphold the existing world economic system and oppose using the world economy as a tool or weapon for political purposes," the document said.
Promote post-conflict reconstruction
Finally, Beijing urges the international community to take measures to support post-conflict reconstruction.
"China is willing to provide assistance and play a constructive role in this endeavor," she says.
