The Armed Forces add that
Russian troops also conducted several unsuccessful offensive operations in the Kupyan and Lyman directions, and Ukrainian troops repelled an assault on Kuzemivka (17 km northwest of Svatovo) and Dibrova (approximately 10 km southeast of Liman).
In addition, according to Serhiy Gaidai, the head of the Luhansk OVA, two Russian tank and infantry companies unsuccessfully tried to break through in the Kremin direction.
The Institute emphasizes that
the main efforts of the Russian army
are now focused on completely capturing the Luhansk region and advancing westward to the eastern Kharkiv region and encircling the northern part of the Donetsk region.
It will be recalled that ISW assessed that Putin revived his imperialist narrative about "historical milestones", which
could threaten the former Soviet countries.
As the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, stated,
Russia's new "big" offensive is already underway
: "It is going on so much that not everyone can even see it, this offensive is of such quality."
The head of the GUR expressed his confidence that now the Russians are showing their best.
