The election of the Standing Committee in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will now be held on Friday (tomorrow).

Due to heavy uproar, the proceedings of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi were adjourned till 10 am on Friday.

Earlier today, the Mayor had announced that the members who are not in the house should be called so that voting can start, but the house had to be adjourned due to the uproar.

Let us tell you that after the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor on Wednesday, there was a lot of uproar regarding the election of the members of the Standing Committee.

During the night-long meeting, there was an incident of fighting and pushing between the councilors.

According to the information, bottles were also thrown by the councilors in the house.

Nearly two and a half months after the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections on Wednesday, AAP's Shaili Oberoi defeated BJP's Rekha Gupta in the mayoral election.

AAP's Aale Mohammad Iqbal became deputy mayor by defeating BJP candidate Kamal Bagdi.

But after this, there was a lot of uproar in the standing committee elections.

When the voting was taking place for the election of the Standing Committee members, the BJP objected that why the councilors were being allowed to carry mobile phones while voting?

When there was ruckus during voting, the mayor said, please sit quietly, otherwise you will be thrown out.

BJP kept on raising slogans.

BJP councilors raised slogans 'Stop hooliganism'.

After this the BJP corporator came to the well.

After continuous uproar by the BJP, the Mayor has accepted their demand that mobile phones will not be allowed during voting.

After this the uproar stopped and the BJP councilors sat on their seats.

However, even after this there was an uproar and the House had to be adjourned eight times.

Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh held a press conference amidst the uproar over the standing committee elections.

He said that till the election of the Standing Committee is done, we will continue to sit in the MCD House.

The Mayor and the MCD officials once again got up and left.
