A series of news on Russian resources about Ukraine's plans to invade Transnistria

may actually indicate the intentions of the Russian occupiers

to seize power in Moldova in order to further open a new front against Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by

Oleksandr Kovalenko,

a military-political commentator of the "Information Resistance" group,

in a comment for

TSN.ua.

According to the expert, such actions of propagandists are reminiscent of the situation that developed in Ukraine on the eve of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops.

"

The same situation with provocation took place on February 21, 2022

- the Russians spread a fake that, apparently, a subversive group of the Armed Forces tried to reach the territory of the Russian Federation from the territory of the so-called "DPR", - says Oleksandr Kovalenko. - They were not at all upset by that fact , that the location where this DRG was supposedly stopped is 30 kilometers away from the contact line. But already on February 24, a full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders into Ukraine took place. That is, it was an information basis in order to prepare consumers of informational

fast food for the invasion.

This was one of the stages of this preparation. I do not rule out that this kind of provocation can be used by the Russians

in order to start some kind of hybrid scenario regarding Moldova

."

According to Kovalenko, the occupiers can play out such a scenario when they "save" Moldova from the "invasion" of a third party in Transnistria.

"Russian propaganda will call the Moldovan government Nazi and say that it must be de-Nazified and demilitarized as soon as possible. Such a hybrid scenario is possible. Any IPSO is actually preparation. The threat is increasing, - believes Oleksandr Kovalenko. - Russians can tell their population what was threat to Transnistria, that is why the so-called "SVO" should be extended to Moldova as well. In my opinion, this is a rather suicidal scenario. If it is used by the Russians, they will suffer an even bigger fiasco than in Ukraine. There are huge doubts that they will succeed in this scenario."

The Russians are creating chaos

In a comment for TSN.ua, Ukrainians living in Moldova spoke about what they see in this country with their own eyes.

"In Moldova, it is not without the fact that Russian narratives enter society, but the government is fighting this. The

Russians have a desire to create chaos in Moldova

, because Moldova supports Ukraine, because this country has accepted more than half a million refugees. We see how because of this some parties here come out on the square, but these are paid events, this is not a popular mood,"

Dmytro Lekartsev,

head of the National Congress of Ukrainians of Moldova, told us .

In addition, he added that the Moldovan authorities are aware of the situation regarding possible threats from Russia.

"Of course, the authorities are keeping the situation under control, working in all directions. Every day at the airport, 20-50 passengers are not given the opportunity to enter the country if they cannot confirm the purpose of their stay. There is no panic in Moldova, people are more worried about what will happen in Ukraine on February 24," Lekartsev summarizes.
