The armed forces of Ukraine, having formed tank battalions with new Western equipment, will be able to break through the front and go to the rear of the occupiers.

The ex-deputy head of the SBU, reserve major general

Viktor Yagun

said this in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

According to him, the war for the Russian army is pointless:

"

They are losing people in huge numbers - more than 144,000 today. But we do not take into account the crippled, seriously wounded and generally wounded - all this amounts to a figure of under half a million.

They can advance, take 7-8 km per month. Someone from Velika Britain calculated that if they advance at such a pace, they will need 50 years to reach Kyiv."

Yagun noted that the occupiers do not have the opportunity to take large cities without using armored vehicles.

"They are forced to push our fighters out of their positions with a meat shaft.

But in the event that we prepare a high-quality maneuverable armored fist that can break through their defenses on this or that section of the front and go to their rear, this whole structured counter-offensive operation of theirs will simply crumble.

" , - he emphasized.

According to the general of the SBU, the Russians "do not have the number of people who can be placed in the trenches at the front and defend this or that line."

"With such a number, only maneuverable wars can be waged, and maneuverable wars require armored vehicles. There is no equipment, no weapons, no prepared assault motorized brigades. They are forced to put up some obstacles, restrain our troops and advance little by little... If there are Western weapons, if ours are

ready fighters, if we introduce reserves, which are 2-3 newly created brigades plus tank battalions that are being formed from Western equipment - this is a fist that the enemy has no answer to, "

said Yagun.

We will remind, following the results of the last Ramstein summit, the allies decided to allocate tanks and armored vehicles, air defense equipment and ammunition to Ukraine.

US Defense Secretary

Lloyd Austin

said that Western allies are determined to continue supporting Ukraine and believe in the success of Ukrainian forces during the spring offensive.

As military expert

Oleksandr Musienko

explained , now the Armed Forces are at the stage preceding the counteroffensive — this is "accumulation of resources for this important stage with the help of our partners who give us weapons."

The former spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,

Vladyslav Seleznyov

, predicts that by the end of August 2023, Ukraine will enter the state border of the 1991 model.
