We offer a non-classical recipe for poppy pancakes, specifically poppy, not poppy, with unusual lemon oil, which is prepared very simply.

For pancakes we need:

  •  milk - 350 ml,

  • flour - 140 g,

  • eggs - 2 pcs.,

  • sugar - 29 g

  • poppy seeds - 2 tbsp.

Preparation of pancakes:

  • Pour boiling water over the poppy seeds and leave for several hours, or overnight.

  • Beat eggs with sugar and salt.

    Pour milk, mix everything thoroughly. 

  • Gradually, and this is very important, add eggs mixed with milk to the flour.

    Beat thoroughly with a whisk so that the dough is uniform, without lumps.

  • Pour oil into the dough.

    It is important that it is not fragrant.

  • Drain the excess liquid from the poppy seeds that we left in the boiling water and add the poppy seeds to the dough.

    Mix everything thoroughly.

  • Heat the pan and before the first pancake and grease it with oil.

    Next, bake pancakes without oil.

Poppy seeds will settle, so it is advisable to mix the dough before the next pancake.

If the dough becomes thick, you can add a little warm water to it.

To prepare lemon oil, you need:

  • butter - 115 g,

  • powdered sugar - 25 g,

  • lemon juice - 2 tsp

  • lemon peel - 1 tsp

How to make lemon oil

Combine soft butter with powder, lemon juice, zest and mix well.

It is advisable to send it to the refrigerator for a while.
