All responsibility for the decision on how to count the ballots rests with the CEC, Vice President Iliana Yotova said

Iliyana Malinova Yotova is a Bulgarian politician, 5th Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, in Plovdiv for the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to count the ballots from the machine and paper voting in a common protocol.

According to Vice President Iliana Yotova

Iliana Malinova Yotova is a Bulgarian politician, the 5th Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the focus should not be on the technology of the election process, but on the efforts of the political forces to convince more Bulgarians than last time to come out and vote.

Technology alone won't help anyone, Yotova said, but it could lead to confusion for some commissions if the decision on how ballots should be counted changes.

Yotova pointed out that, in her opinion, there is an aspiration to make voting by machine vote meaningless and invalid and to show that it is unnecessary and creates additional difficulties.

The CEC determined the conditions for financing the election campaign

"This comes from those who changed the law at the last minute, as well as those who will eventually change the rules again," she noted.

Yotova commented that there are growing doubts that after the return of the paper ballot, vote buying will increase.

I don't want to think about tainting the vote, and I see the Ministry of Interior as a reliable guarantor for the elections to go as they should, the vice president pointed out.

According to her, these elections are very important because Bulgaria has been in a political crisis for more than 22 months.

She urged every Bulgarian citizen to think carefully, but above all to vote.
