In Syria, a baby who was born under the rubble of a building destroyed by a devastating

earthquake

on February 6 has been adopted by her aunt and uncle.

Her mother, father and four siblings died.

The newborn girl was under the rubble for more than 10 hours.

The BBC writes about it.

After it became known about the happy story of saving the newborn child, thousands of people offered to adopt the girl.

However, she was reunited with her blood family - aunt and uncle.

She was released from hospital and released to family after a DNA test confirmed her aunt was a blood relative.

The doctors said that the child is doing well.

"Now she is one of my children, I will not make a difference between her and my children," said her uncle Khalil al-Sawadi in media comments.

The child was named after her late mother - Aphraa.

Shortly after she was rescued, the baby was named Aya, which means "miracle" in Arabic.

The building her family lived in was one of about 50 destroyed by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

According to relatives, the girl's mother went into labor shortly after the earthquake.

Her new family is currently staying with relatives as the home of Mr Sawadi and his wife Hala was also destroyed in the earthquake.

We will remind, in the north of Syria, a newborn child was pulled out from under the rubble of a house after an earthquake.

The baby was tied by the umbilical cord to the mother, who died.

The video of the rescue

appeared on the Internet.

The footage shows a man running out from under the rubble of the building, holding a tiny baby covered in dust in his arms.

The second man runs with a blanket to warm the child in sub-zero temperatures, the third asks to call an ambulance to take her to the hospital.
