In the village of Ashaghi Seyidahmadli of Fuzuli district, the area where there is a suspected mass grave has been cleared of mines.

APA's Karabakh bureau reports that a media tour was organized to the mine-cleared area by the Demining Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA).

During the media tour, ANAMA employees emphasized that the mentioned area is excessively contaminated with mines.

It was reported that based on the testimony of the prisoners and hostages during the First Karabakh War, and their family members, it was decided to conduct searches in the said area, taking into account the possibility of a mass grave in the village of Ashaghi Seyidahmadli of the Fuzuli region.

It was noted that the entire area of Ashaghi Seyidahmadli village was completely mined.

Habil Babayev, an employee of ANAMA, said that the area where the graves of people who disappeared during the First Karabakh War are supposed to be, covers an area of 4 hectares.

Currently, that area is being cleared of mines by ANAMA.

59 anti-tank mines were found in the area within 10 days: "The area is very polluted with mines.

The enemy knew that people would search for the graves of their loved ones, so they mined the area massively.

To date, ANAMA employees have cleared 15 percent of the 4-hectare area from mines.

Many mines are visible.

This indicates that in the future there is a high probability that there will be many more mines in this area."

ANAMA employee, Bahruz Behbud oghlu Mahmudov, a resident of Gazakhlar village of Fuzuli district, said that he was 11 years old when the Armenian villages were attacked.

It is said that his father was also taken hostage by Armenians during the occupation.

After that, his family could not hear from Behbud Mahmudov: "I hope to meet a sign from my father in the area where there is a mass grave."

Mushfiq Namazov, an employee of ANAMA, said that the Armenian army buried mines in the area very densely, which does not meet any standards: "Mines are an invisible enemy, our citizens should avoid entering dangerous places that have not been cleared."

It was also noted that ANAMA's demining teams discovered 81,000 unexploded military ammunition and mines in the liberated areas after the 44-day war.

14 of them are anti-tank mines.
