Military expert Oleg Zhdanov suggested that Russia can accumulate aviation both for defense in the occupied territories and in the offensive against Ukraine.

The expert told about this in his video blog.

Answering the questions of subscribers, Zhdanov confirmed the thesis that the Russian Federation can accumulate aviation specifically for the defense of its positions in the captured territories of Ukraine.

"They can focus their main efforts on the defense of their positions. By the way, this is why I say that (on the part of Ukraine - ed.) to send into battle such a large amount of new equipment that we receive or will receive from partner countries without aviation cover , then it would not be completely correct. Precisely because

Russia can use aviation both defensively and offensively

," the military expert noted.

At the same time, he assured that it would be more difficult for the Russian occupiers to use their aviation in an attack on Ukraine, because it can be shot down not only on Ukrainian territory, but also in the sky over Russian Belgorod.

"Well,

in the offensive, it is more problematic:

they can only shell our territory from a long distance, without flying deep into our country, because it will be a one-way ticket. I think that our long-range weapons in this case will shoot down even over Belgorod, if they get the Russian aviation.

But if they go on the defensive, then the aviation will try to work against our troops

, which will break through the defense of the Russian troops on our territories. For this (Ukraine - ed.) aviation is needed - to engage in battle with Russian planes," - explained Zhdanov.

It will be recalled that the Western media reported on Russia's alleged withdrawal of aviation to the border with Ukraine due to the threat of an air attack.

The USA does not officially confirm such information.

And the Air Force of the Armed Forces assured that the Russian Federation did not pull the planes to the borders.

They also informed that the number of aircraft used by the Russians at 40 airfields in the Russian Federation, Belarus and occupied Crimea has not changed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

According to military and political commentator Oleksandr Kovalenko, in the event of a massive air attack on Ukraine, Russian warplanes will be vulnerable to air defense, because the enemy has few long-range air-to-surface missiles left.
