US President Joe Biden spoke in Warsaw on February 21 and promised support to Ukraine and Moldova, addressed the Russians and reminded the Russian Federation that an attack on at least one NATO member country means.

TSN.ua collected the main theses from Biden's speech in Poland on the eve of the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Putin has lost power

In a speech to a large audience in the center of Warsaw, the President of the USA said that the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has already lost his strength, and democracy exists, was and will be forever.

"That's why we're talking about peace. This is what I wanted to convey to Ukrainians yesterday (February 20 - ed.). And President Zelenskyi said that our struggle today will mean how our children and grandchildren will live," Biden said.

He also emphasized that "a dictator who seeks to revive the empire will never overcome the people's love for freedom, and Ukraine will never become a victim of Russia."

War crimes

The US president reminded Russia of many "brutal crimes against humanity" committed by Russia in Ukraine.

The politician emphasized that

"no one should turn their eyes away from these crimes."

"Russian soldiers and mercenaries committed war crimes: they killed civilians, raped women, bombed residential buildings, stole Ukrainian children. They destroyed schools and orphanages. No one should turn their eyes away from these crimes that Russia committed in Ukraine," Biden said.

Support for Ukraine

The American leader thanked Poland and its citizens for their support of Ukraine and called on them to do so in the future.

At the same time, he noted that one must be honest: protecting freedom is not something that can be done in a day or a week.

"This is a very long process. And Ukraine has been fighting against this long-term onslaught of war.

It may last a long time, and there will be many more tragedies

. Our partners, our allies, the United States will support Ukraine in its struggle for its independence," assured the head of the White House home

He further emphasized that the USA and NATO member states will never tire of supporting Ukraine until its victory.

Difficult months for Ukraine

The American leader warned that the next months will be difficult for Ukrainians as they defend their country.

"The dictator will not be able to restore the empire and force people to do it. Since Ukraine continues to defend itself against the Russian offensive and conducts its own counteroffensive, there

will be difficult and very bitter days ahead.

Victories and tragedies," Biden noted.

Moldova

The American leader also emphasized that it is very important for him to support the people of Moldova.

"… we are also talking about Moldova. Because it is very important to me to support free people in Moldova. I would like to ask you to applaud the people of Moldova, President Mrs. Sandu," Biden said.

Sanctions

Biden announced this week the announcement of new sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, so that the Russian Federation "pays the price for its crimes."

"All those responsible for this war will be punished for the crimes committed by the Russians. The protection of freedom is not a matter of one year or period. It is always important," said the US president.

Appeal to the Russians

Biden addressed the Russians and assured them that

the United States was not going to destroy or attack Russia.

"The United States of America is not going to destroy Russia, we are not going to attack Russia. Millions of Russian citizens want to live in peace with their neighbors, they have never been enemies. This is a tragedy," said the head of the White House.

He emphasized that

the decision on the war against Ukraine was made by Putin, and "it is his choice - how long this war will last."

"He can stop the war. If Russia stops this attack and withdraws from Ukraine, it will be the end of the war, if Ukraine stops resisting the enemy, it will be the end of Ukraine," the US president emphasized.

At the same time, he assured that Ukraine will be able to stand up for itself.

Russia and NATO

Biden reminded Russia that an attack on one of the NATO countries is considered an attack on all the territories of the Alliance.

"Russia knows this: an attack against one of the NATO countries is an attack on all NATO territories. Over the last year, the United States has created

a coalition with its partners to oppose Russia

. And this is not a fight against something, it is a fight for something - for what we want to build, what we want to improve, build peace," said the American leader.

He added that decisions about peace in the next five years will affect the next 10 years.

The politician emphasized that a choice must be made between chaos and stability.
