The danger of repeated earthquakes remains in Turkey.

Now residents of the city of Adana need to be careful.

After all, there is a branch of the East Anatolian fault there.

Such an opinion was expressed by Professor, Doctor of Geological Sciences Nachi Goryur, writes Ogretmenlericin.

"When an earthquake occurs in some place, some of the released energy is also transmitted north-south, for example, according to the scale of this fault, some of it is transmitted to the north and some to the south. In other words, the energy is not completely discharged and dissipated in the atmosphere." , - the scientist explained.

On the eve of February 20, two earthquakes of magnitude 6.4 and 5.8 occurred in Hatay province.

According to Gjoryur, it is not enough.

"When the Kahramanmaras earthquake happened (the first one on February 6 - Ed.), I said that Turkey should pay attention to the basin around the city of Adana and the Hatay region in the south. Because there will be energy transfer to unbreakable faults, they can rupture and cause earthquakes. Now this earthquake happened in Hataya. We do not expect a strong earthquake on the Oludeniz fault - in the section from the cities of Marash to the city of Hataya within the borders of Turkey," he emphasized.

The city of Adana needs to be careful.

According to the engineer, energy may have been transmitted there, which could cause another earthquake.

We will remind, on February 6,

a powerful earthquake

with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in Turkey and Syria.

Subsequently, there were two more - magnitude 7.7 and 7.6.

At least 40,600 people died in Turkey and more than 5,800 in Syria.

In the evening of February 18 , earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred

again in Kahramanmarash province .

Fortunately, this time the tremors were much less intense.

Already on February 20,

two new earthquakes of magnitude 6.4 and 5.8 occurred.

At least 6 people died and 294 people were injured.
