Serhiy Zhirnov, a former employee of the KGB and the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, said that the circle of bad things surrounding Putin is getting narrower every day, and the Russian dictator has nothing left but to admit defeat in the war against Ukraine.

According to him, the head of the Russian Federation allowed himself to be led by the nose when he believed in the scenario of 2014, during which Russia managed to temporarily occupy Crimea.

Zhirnov told about this on the air of "Channel 24".

"Putin is fed up with everyone in the Russian Federation. He made this mess and backed himself into a corner. But he has a very simple way out - to say that he is withdrawing the troops and ending this war. That's it, there are no problems," Zhirnov emphasized.

He added that such an unpleasant decision would be an ignominious end for the dictator.

At the same time, any other decisions to get out of the war, no matter who they come from in the Kremlin, will not help Putin either.

Zhirnov is convinced that representatives of the so-called Russian elite want to "run down" Putin, because he is dragging them down with him.

And the only chance for them to stay afloat is to make Putin a scapegoat.

"All the elites understood that this was a good way out. You can hang all the dogs on him, say that he forced them, and they resisted," Zhirnov explained.

He stated that the Russian military was allegedly against the war because they "understood its consequences."

According to him, they knew that they had been fighting in Donbas for eight years and could not achieve anything.

"That's why everyone will betray Putin now, and the sooner they do it, the better for all of us," the Russian noted.

It will be recalled that earlier Russian oppositionist and human rights defender Mark Feigin said that the occupiers could not achieve success during the year of Russia's large-scale war in Ukraine, so the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, is currently in a very difficult situation from which he cannot get out.
