"The Munich Security Conference is considered to be an important stage on the way to a new world security architecture."

Hikmet Babaoglu, the deputy chairman of the defense, security and anti-corruption committee of the Milli Majlis, said this in his statement to APA.

Hikmet Babaoglu said that the possible framework of the new military-political architecture can also be determined by the proposals, ideas and initiatives put forward at this conference: "In this sense, one of the most pressing issues is undoubtedly the security of Europe or Eurasia in a broad sense.

Azerbaijan is already one of the important actors of this political geography, as well as an important country in terms of military-political and energy security.

But this is not the whole point.

Because Azerbaijan has managed to deepen its role as a natural-historical geopolitical bridge between Europe and Asia and enrich it with new transport and energy infrastructure.

Moreover, with the new reality created after 2020, it has the strategic key of the region.

That is, not only from the geo-economic point of view,

from the military-strategic point of view, today it has become the main country that provides security.

At the same time, despite all these advantages, Azerbaijan is forming an agenda of peace and cooperation.

Therefore, as the leader of a country that plays an important role for the security of both Europe and Asia, and as a politician who is the strategic author of these new realities, President Ilham Aliyev's participation and ideas at the Munich Security Conference were in the focus of almost all participants.

The deputy noted that the President of Azerbaijan presented his speeches and initiatives at the conference on conceptual basis and explained what mistakes were made, and today's security threats emerged after the mistakes: If Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan, which began in the 1960s, had been condemned, if sanctions had been applied to the invading country, if the resolutions of the UN Security Council had been implemented, and if the OSCE Minsk Group had fulfilled its mission, the war that occurred in 2020 would not have happened.

Or later, the events of Moldova, Georgia, motivated by the support of occupation, and even the current Russia-Ukraine war, could have been completely different conditions.

The general paradigm of the views put forward by the President of Azerbaijan was that if we want to build a safer world, we should not make the mistakes that brought us to today's dangers.

But the real picture is that new efforts are still underway to create a new hotbed of war in the future."

Hikmet Babaoglu said that oligarch criminals are being sent to the Karabakh territory of Azerbaijan, there is talk of some kind of transport blockade, and it is a pity that there are those who support such a position: "Therefore, peace in the region and in the world can only be formed on the basis of justice and international law, it will be sustainable.

The President of Azerbaijan once again reminded the sovereign rights of the states in their territories and the requirements of international law by putting forward the proposal to establish checkpoints on the Armenia-Azerbaijani border both at the security panel in the South Caucasus and at the tripartite US-Azerbaijan-Armenia meeting.

The main issue is that this position of Azerbaijan was supported by Europe and the United States, considering it understandable.

This was undoubtedly remembered as a great success of Azerbaijani diplomacy.

At the same time, he expressed the possibility of establishing the future world order only on law and justice.

Therefore, the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the Munich Security Conference and his position on possible peace in the South Caucasus can be considered as new and sustainable principles of regional security.
