Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that Lukashenko is trying to avoid sending his army to war against Ukraine.

He noted that such actions would mean the end of the regime of the self-proclaimed president of Belarus.

He said this in an interview with Natalia Moseichuk.

"Frankly speaking, we are already ready to expect anything from the Belarusian side. This is a regime that we actually do not recognize in a political sense. We believe that the elections were falsified, that the result absolutely does not reflect who is in power there today. We believe that it is a usurped power, and therefore we do not recognize it. Moreover, it is a power that persecutes the citizens. There is no doubt in anyone's mind. The recent disgraceful sentencing of Mr. Pochobut to eight years in prison for wanting democracy in Belarus, in his own country where he lives, of which he is a citizen, for the fact that he acted as a representative of the Polish national minority in Belarus... This is an obvious violation of all international norms, all principles and an obvious demonstration that we, in fact, , we are dealing with a regime that controls the courts, where court decisions are made at the behest of the authorities, and where there is a huge injustice towards ordinary citizens," the Polish leader emphasized.

Andrzej Duda added that Putin can force Lukashenka to openly join the war against Ukraine.

"Today, no one doubts that in modern Belarus we are dealing with a regime from which, de facto, you can expect anything. However, this regime also plays its own game. There is no doubt that Lukashenko is somewhere trying to avoid Putin did not force him to allow the Belarusian army into Ukraine, to engage in open combat against Ukraine, because, firstly, it would mean death for many Belarusians who have no combat experience and would suddenly, poorly armed, face Ukrainians who are fighting for many years and who are very determined to defend their homeland," said Duda.

The President of Poland emphasized that sending Belarusians to war could be the final end for the Belarusian regime.

"Secondly, Belarusians are not a belligerent nation. Belarusians do not want to fight. Therefore, they would have to be forced to go against their Ukrainian neighbors. Lukashenko knows very well that this will mean the final end for him, because the nation practically, in my opinion, then will go against him in full force. The situation may turn out to be completely unmanageable for him. Today he can control it with terror, today he forces submission by sentencing protesters and those who oppose him to years in prison, but all it may not be enough if he forces people to go and shed blood for a cause they consider shameful," Duda stressed.

We will remind you that the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, believes that Russia's war against Ukraine could not be avoided, since the Russian Federation had already decided on aggression in February 2022.
