A total of 24 drivers who got behind the wheel after consuming alcohol have been identified for the past 24 hours within the framework of the specialized police operation for compliance with the Law on Road Traffic, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

15 people were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, and two refused to be tested.

9,206 motor vehicles were checked as part of the ordered specialist police operation to comply with the Road Traffic Act.

11,586 drivers and passengers were checked.

2,622 slips and 593 acts were drawn up for established administrative violations.

Emphasis in the action is the prohibition of driving by drivers who have consumed alcohol, narcotic substances and/or their analogues, as well as driving of vehicles by unlicensed drivers. 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs caught 30 drunk and 20 drugged drivers in one day

Two people died and 22 were injured in 21 serious accidents in the country during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced earlier on its website.

Since the beginning of the year, there have been 685 accidents in the country with 58 victims and 870 injured.
