On the evening of Saturday, February 18, in the Turkish province of Kahramanmaras, which suffered from a devastating earthquake on February 6, earthquakes occurred again. 

As reported by the Hurriyet publication with reference to the Agency for the Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters and Emergency Situations (AFAD), an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred at 10:31 p.m. local time (9:31 p.m. Kyiv time) in the area of ​​the city of Heksun.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 12.18 km.

Tremors were also felt in the surrounding towns.

CNN Türk Head of Special News in Kahramanmaraş, Fuliya Öztürk, reported that tremors of varying strength are felt daily in this earthquake-ravaged province of Turkey.

According to her, the tremors were sudden and lasted about 20 seconds.

Local residents, who witnessed the terrible destruction, were greatly frightened by the new earthquake.

Fortunately, this time the tremors were much less intense.

There were no reports of damage or casualties.
