Abdul said in a tea meeting with the media before leaving Taiwan that he hoped to review the achievements of the bilateral cooperative partnership with Taiwan.

During his tenure, he has achieved fruitful results with Taiwan in areas such as medical care, clean energy, electric vehicles, education and culture, women's empowerment, meat sales to Taiwan, and investment and trade. He looks forward to such bilateral cooperation after he leaves office. Partnerships can live on, too.

As for the upcoming presidential election in Paraguay in April, the opposition candidate claimed that if elected, they would break off diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

In this regard, Abdo stressed that he firmly believed that the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Taiwan would be a "historic mistake", and hoped that the next government would not make such a misjudgment.

And he also believes that no matter what the outcome of the presidential election is, it will not affect Paraguay's more than 65-year friendship with Taiwan.
