Twelve cheetahs brought from South Africa reached Kuno in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

Earlier in September last year, eight cheetahs were brought from Namibia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released two of the eight cheetahs brought from Namibia in a special enclosure on the morning of September 17, his birthday.

With this, cheetahs started appearing again in the country after 70 years.

Seven male and five female cheetahs were kept on the plane in this special box at Hindenburg Park in South Africa.

On the evening of Friday, February 17, a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force left from OR Tambo Airport in South Africa.

This aircraft reached Gwalior airport at 10 am on Saturday. 

After this, 12 cheetahs were taken to Kuno by four helicopters of the army.

Here his health test was done.

Then around 12 noon they were taken to the enclosures.

As soon as the cheetahs were released in Kuno, they first ran fast, then went ahead and stopped and started running again.

SP Yadav, head of the Cheetah Project, said that all the cheetahs are healthy, active and completely normal.

All of them were freed from captivity.

Quarantine boma, ie 12 cheetahs will be kept in the enclosure.

For this, 10 quarantine enclosures have been prepared.

Of these, eight are new and two are old.

Apart from this, two isolation wards have also been prepared.

In these, there will be arrangements for their food and drink for the whole month.

These cheetahs will stay in quarantine enclosures for a month.

Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that the second phase of this project has started.

With this the quarantine of cheetahs from Namibia is over.

For the care of cheetahs, the forest department has prepared more than 450 cheetah friends.

The villagers have also taken a pledge to give up the axe.

Now some of the eight cheetahs brought from Namibia can be released into the wild, where they will be put to the real test, as all the guests from South Africa have lived in the jungle environment by fighting with other animals, but some of the guests from Namibia have been protected. were used to living with.
