The German defense concern "Rheinmetall" plans to cooperate with the companies "Lockheed Martin" and "Northrop Grumman" in the production of parts for F-35 combat aircraft.

APA reports that this was announced on the website of the German company on Friday.

It was reported that "Lockheed Martin" and "Northrop Grumman" have signed a letter of intent with "Rheinmetall" as a prospective strategic supply source for the center fuselage of the F-35.

It should be noted that the F-35 is a fifth-generation, radar-invisible, single-pilot, single-engine combat aircraft jointly produced by the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

The fifth-generation fighter plane was created to destroy targets on the ground and conduct air combat.

9 countries participated in the improvement of the fighter.
