[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] American fighter planes shot down the Chinese balloon on the 4th and started salvage operations. It was completed on Friday the 17th local time, and the detector and other wreckage were recovered.

The U.S. government said that they will start to analyze the "inside" of the balloon in the future.

Reuters reported that the US Northern Command (Northern Command) said in a statement that the last piece of Chinese balloon debris had been salvaged and delivered to the FBI laboratory in Virginia for analysis.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby (John Kirby) said that the amount of debris found in the search is considerable, including the payload structure and some electronic and optical equipment.

These items are currently sent to the FBI laboratory.

Kirby mentioned that the United States has learned a lot from observing balloons flying over its airspace. "By looking at the internal structure of the balloon, seeing how it works and what it is capable of, I believe we will learn more."

U.S. President Joe Biden said yesterday that he would discuss the balloon controversy with Chinese President Xi Jinping. "I expect to talk to President Xi Jinping. Hopefully we can work it out on this matter, but I will not apologize for shooting the balloon."
