Taitung police disguised themselves as workers and arrested a man who bought gold online with counterfeit banknotes.

[Reporter Huang Mingtang/Taitung Report] The Taitung Branch Zhongxing Police Station recently received information that a man surnamed Li (male, 31 years old) bought gold (valued at NT$50,000) through the Internet with counterfeit thousand-yuan bills, and sent it to the post office. The method of payment in goods was used to fraudulently steal gold. The police from the Zhongxing Police Station pretended to be workers in an ambush and seized Li suspects and counterfeit banknotes on the spot. Another wanted criminal was arrested at Li's residence.

The Taitung Police Department stated that the Zhongxing Police Station received intelligence information and got in touch with the seller during the sale. At around 1:00 p.m. on the 17th, they met with Li Pan in downtown Taitung and took advantage of Li's counterfeit banknotes to count the money. He went forward to suppress the arrest, and seized 46 counterfeit thousand-yuan banknotes and one gold ring on the spot.

After investigation, Suspect Li was also wanted by the Taitung District Prosecutor's Office for a fraud case, and the police arrested and investigated according to law.

In addition, when the police from ZTE Office took the stolen goods with Li Suan's residence, they accidentally seized a man surnamed Huang (male, 41 years old) who was wanted by the Taitung District Prosecutor for obstructing freedom on the top floor of Li Suan's residence. A batch of weapons will be arrested and investigated according to law.

The whole case was transferred to the Taitung District Prosecutor's Office for investigation according to the cases of wanted fraud, wanted for obstructing freedom, use of counterfeit and counterfeit currency, and drug hazard prevention regulations.
