The plane was met by the ambassador of Bulgaria in Lebanon, Boyan Belev.

Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Demerdzhiev announced this morning that the International Committee of the Red Cross will participate in the organization of further transportation of the shipment.

Demerdzhiev: We were the first to raise the issue of aid to Syria before the European Commission

Bulgaria sent humanitarian aid from the Bulgarian Red Cross - blankets and sleeping sets, as well as tents and blankets, provided by the Main Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The aid is also in response to their requested assistance sent to the European Union by activating the Civil Protection Mechanism.

From Lebanon, the plane will head to Turkey, from where it is planned to pick up the medical teams from the Military Medical Academy, which for ten days provided assistance to the injured in our south-eastern neighbor, which was also affected by the earthquakes.
