Rama donated the amount on behalf of the Albanians during a Turkish television broadcast.

"We are a small country, but with a big heart.

We will never forget what Turkey and President (of Turkey Recep Tayyip) Erdogan did for our country in the earthquake of 2019. We are ready to do everything in our power to support the Turkish people.

I am sure that with Turkey's efforts, everything will be achieved," said Rama, quoted by Anadolu Agency.

He added on behalf of the entire country that Albanians are deeply saddened by what happened in Turkey.

February 13 was declared a day of national mourning in Albania in solidarity with Turkey and Syria following the devastating earthquakes of February 6 in both countries.

Albania's flag was flown at half-mast, and thousands of people lit candles in memory of the victims.
