Murat is coming home from a night shift when the ground begins to shake violently under his feet.

Fearing for the life of his wife and their unborn child, Murat takes desperate measures.

In order to save Tuba, who is 9 months pregnant, Murat decides to throw her off the terrace of their apartment.

Thanks to his quick response, Tuba gave birth to a healthy child in an Istanbul hospital two days later.

"Since our apartment was on the first floor, we immediately ran to the balcony and my husband threw me down.

When I fell on the dirty dirt, I thought I had lost the baby, but Murat insisted that we move away to a safe place.

At that moment, the building collapsed and all our neighbors were buried," Tuba recalls of the nightmarish night of February 6.

Many of those injured in the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes in Kahramanmaras were taken to various hospitals in Istanbul for treatment.

Tuba Aktas arrives in the city on the Bosphorus, where she and her child are saved, writes Telegraph.

"We started shaking around 04.16 at night. After I was already on the street, the pains started. We visited the local medical facility where we learned that the child was in good health. We didn't know what to do because the phones didn't work. We left for Istanbul, as my sister lives here. We have no other acquaintances in the city, but the doctors at the hospital showed empathy and helped us," says Tuba.

The nightmare has no end: Another strong earthquake in Turkey

The hero of this story, the young father Murat Aktash, shared details of the night of horror in Kahramanmarash.

“I had just come home from a night shift and felt the earthquake when I was going to the bathroom.

I immediately took my wife to the balcony and threw her outside, then went out the door.

We lived in our family apartment and managed to escape because we were on the first floor, but none of our neighbors managed to escape - they were all buried under the collapsed building.

I took my wife to the kindergarten next to our house and we both stayed there for two days, then we left for Istanbul.

Our son was born here in good health,” he revealed.
