A delegation of the China-Africa Investment Fund (CADFUND) is expected to visit Tanzania in April, 2023.

The promise was made in Beijing when the President of CADFUND, Song Lei met the Tanzanian Ambassador to China, Mbelwa Kairuki.

The message will arrive in the country after President Samia Suluhu Hassan gave an opinion to investors to come and invest in the country when he visited China.


The CADFUND Fund was established by the Chinese Government for the purpose of investing in Africa through joint ventures with Chinese companies.

The fund with a capital of 10 billion US dollars has invested in the agriculture, fishing, mining, manufacturing and communication sectors.

In Tanzania, the fund has invested in various projects including the Maweni cement factory project and the Hemp farming project in Tanga region.

The President of the Fund Lei has explained that following the opinion of the President of Tanzania to welcome investment in the country as well as the information they received on the various measures taken by the Sixth Phase Government to improve the investment environment.

The CADFUND fund will be ready to invest more in Tanzania in the Agriculture, technology and infrastructure sectors.


And Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki has promised and assured the leadership of CADFUND that they will get cooperation from the Government of Tanzania with the aim of achieving their ambition to increase investment in the country.
