[Reporter Zheng Shuting/Taoyuan Report] The Dongmenxi Ditch at the junction of Taoyuan City and Yingge District, New Taipei City was stained red. The Environmental Protection Bureau of the Taoshi Government sent inspectors to the scene after receiving the report today, and launched the New Taipei Taoyuan Environmental Protection Joint Strike Contact Platform to trace the source It is Chuan Shun Enterprise Co., Ltd., which is engaged in textile dyeing and finishing upstream. The Environmental Protection Bureau stated that it will immediately require the industry to stop discharging, and report violations of the "Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law". If the water test exceeds the standard, a fine of 60,000 to 20 million yuan will be imposed.

The Environmental Protection Agency stated that after receiving reports from the public, they went to Dazhi Road, Taoyuan District, and Dongmen River, Fengfu 1st Street, Yingge District, for investigation. The water color was dark red at the scene, and the water was taken for testing. Afterwards, the Taoyuan-New Taipei Joint Inspection Mechanism was launched. The inspectors tracked along the waterway to Bade District Chuan Shun Enterprise Co., Ltd. found that its discharge outlet was discharging red wastewater. It went into the site to check the wastewater treatment operation procedures and found that the industry did not add chemicals to the adjustment tank during wastewater treatment, resulting in poor treatment efficiency and polluting river water.

The Environmental Protection Agency stated that the company has a water pollution prevention and control permit issued by the Taoshi government, but the wastewater treatment operation does not comply with the permit regulations. In addition to reporting violations of Article 14 of the Water Pollution Law, a fine of between 60,000 and 6 million yuan can be imposed. At the same time, the industry is required to stop discharging, and the waste water is pumped back to the adjustment pool for temporary storage; the inspectors also collect the company’s discharge water for inspection, and if it exceeds the standard, they can be fined more than 60,000 to 20 million yuan.
