Two Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers have carried out a patrol mission over international waters - over the Bering Sea, where the maritime border between the United States and the Russian Federation passes.

The news was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The military department added that the two planes were in the air for about seven hours.

Relations between Russia and the US are in an unprecedented crisis

The bombers were escorted by Su-30 fighters from the Air Force and Air Defense Group of the Eastern Military District, the Ministry of Defense said in Telegram, without clarifying when the mission in question was carried out.

From there, they emphasized that all flights of the Air Force of the Russian Federation are in accordance with international norms for the use of airspace.
