Congratulating Air India and Airbus for the deal, PM Modi also thanked President Macron for joining the program.

New Delhi:

An important agreement has been signed between India and France.

A deal of 250 aircraft has been signed between New Air India-Airbus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) made this deal through video conferencing with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday, 14 February.

PM Modi said that the Indian aviation sector needs more than 2 thousand aircraft in the next 15 years.

The deal includes 40 A350 wide-body long-haul aircraft and 210 narrow-body aircraft for Tata Group-owned Air India.

"This is a historic moment for Airbus to help revive Air India," Airbus Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said in a videoconferencing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ratan Tata, French President Emmanuel Macron and other leaders.

The deal with Airbus is part of a larger order of 470 aircraft by Air India, which is expected to include an order of 220 aircraft from Boeing.

PM Modi said during the meeting that this important deal reflects the deepening relations between India and France, as well as the successes and aspirations of India's civil aviation sector.

Let us tell you that this is the biggest aircraft order in the history of aviation.

Congratulating Air India and Airbus for the deal, PM Modi also thanked President Macron for joining the program.

PM Modi said that through our Regional Connectivity Scheme (Udaan), remote parts of the country are also being connected by air connectivity, which is giving a boost to the economic and social development of the people.

He informed that many new opportunities are opening up in aerospace manufacturing under India's 'Make in India - Make for the World' vision.

PM Modi said that whether it is the issue of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region or global food security and health security, India and France together are making a positive contribution.

PM Modi said that today the partnership of both the countries is playing a direct role in ensuring the stability and balance of the international order and multilateral system.

There are two editions of the A350 family – the A350-900, and the A350-1000.

Airbus says that the A350s efficiently fly up to 17,000 km on short-haul to ultra-long-haul routes in any sector.

It has the capacity to carry 300 to 410 passengers in normal three-class configuration and 480 passengers in single-class layout.
