On February 14, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Igor Khovayev, the special representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for the normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations.

APA reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released information about this.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, the peace agreement negotiations, and various aspects of the protests on the Lachin road.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that despite the constructive approaches shown by our country both during the occupation of its territories and in the post-conflict period, and advancing proposals on the peace process after the 44-day war, Armenia constantly hinders the process.

He reminded that Armenia has boycotted the next round of negotiations on the peace agreement scheduled to be held in December.

It was brought to attention that the Lachin road is used for purposes other than those stipulated by the Tripartite Declaration.

The minister stressed that the legitimate demands of the protesters have not yet been fulfilled and that the Armenian side is using this situation for its own political purposes and diverting the issue into the wrong direction.

Regional security and other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
