The Russian Federation continues to use its relations with Iran to provide military support for the war in Ukraine.

This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Experts recalled that the Main Directorate of Military Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR) intercepted

an audio recording

of how two operators of Shahed drones coordinated targets.

According to the GUR, they communicated "in a dialect of the Kurdish language interspersed with words in Farsi."

ISW cannot identify the dialect in the audio recording with high confidence, but the fact that the persons in the audio recording are operator Shahed,

indicates that they can be operators

from Iranian Kurdistan, who are probably linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Analysts also believe that

IRGC employees likely support Russia's use of drones

Shahed

, acting as operators and instructors.

In ISW too

recalled that

Iran had smuggled at least 18 long-range drones to Russia

using boats and Iranian state planes.

"According to The Guardian, these supplies include 12 Shahed-121 and 129 drones, which are capable of ground strikes and are designed to deliver payloads to the target and return to base, unlike the Shahed-131 and 136,

which Russian troops have so far widely used in Ukraine," the message reads.

As noted, IL-76 cargo planes connected to the KIR regularly fly to Russia.

So in

ISW

it is assumed that

Tehran constantly provides Moscow with various materials.

"All these data indicate that Russia continues to rely on Iran for military and technological support in Ukraine, and that certain Iranian personnel are probably in Ukraine, directly supporting Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure," the ISW stated.

We will remind, according to the data

CNN,

Iran is believed to be modifying the attack drones

it provides to Russia so that the explosive warheads can cause maximum damage to infrastructure targets in Ukraine.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Moscow and Tehran are developing preliminary plans for

the production of Iranian-made drones in Russia.
