Where the people working in private companies start expecting that if there is an increment, then the government employees directly remember the dearness allowance.

On Monday, retail inflation rose to a three-month high of 6.52 per cent in January.

With this, inflation has once again gone above the satisfactory level of the Reserve Bank.

The consumer price index based inflation was 5.72 per cent in December and 6.01 per cent in January 2022.

Inflation in food articles stood at 5.94 per cent in January as against 4.19 per cent in December.

These figures are telling that people are upset due to the inflation of food items.

Earlier, retail inflation stood at a high of 6.77 per cent in the month of October.

The Reserve Bank of India mainly looks at retail inflation while considering monetary policy.

The central bank is entrusted with the responsibility of keeping inflation at 4 percent with a range of 2 percent.

In such an environment, crores of government employees are once again looking forward to dearness allowance.

Normally dearness allowance is given twice a year.

It is announced to be given just before Holi and just before Diwali.

The first is applicable from January 1 and the second is applicable from July 1.

Now next month is Holi on 8th March and everyone is worried due to inflation.

In such a situation, the wait for declaration of dearness allowance to crores of government employees has already started. 

According to the information, a decision in this regard can be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held in the last week of February or in the first week of March.

It is believed that the final decision on dearness allowance will be taken in this cabinet meeting and the amount going home to crores of government employees will increase.

In Holi, a festive atmosphere will be created at the house of government employees.
