Police in Brazil have arrested a teenager accused of trying to attack a school in a small town near Sao Paulo, AP reported, citing BTA.

No one was injured in the incident in the town of Monte More, home to 56,000 people.

Police in Sao Paulo said the 17-year-old was detained with explosives and an ax and that he was filmed removing these items from a car parked outside the school.

An air weapon and Nazi propaganda materials were seized from the boy's home.

Attacks on schools are rare in Brazil, but similar incidents have occurred in recent years.

On November 26, a former student armed with a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver attacked two schools in the small city of Aracruz in the southeastern state of Espirito Santo, killing four people and injuring 12. He wore a swastika badge and planned the attacks over two years old, police said.
