Ukrainians are warned of a moderate avalanche danger (level 2) in the highlands of the western and central part of Zakarpattia Oblast, in the mountains of Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Lviv Oblasts.
It started on Sunday, February 12 and will continue until Monday, February 13.
This is reported by the Ukrhydrometeorological center.
"Avalanches are possible with low additional loads, individual natural medium and large avalanches. We advise you to refrain from hiking in the highlands," the message reads.
Also, on February 13, there will be a significant snow avalanche danger (level 3) in the highlands of the eastern Zakarpattia region.
Earlier, we reported on the descent of a snow avalanche from the mountains in the city of Nyingchi in the Tibet Autonomous Region.
The snow mass took the lives of 28 people.
