will inaugurate the Sohna-Dausa section of the

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

 today .

The 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been developed at a cost of over Rs 12,150 crore.

With the commissioning of this section, the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur will reduce from 5 hours to about 3.5 hours.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will give a big boost to the economic development of many areas.

1. The Delhi Mumbai Expressway will be the longest expressway in India with a length of 1,386 km.

2. The Sohna (Haryana)-Dausa (Rajasthan) section is the first phase of the New Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

3. It will pass through six states Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

4. Will also connect major cities like Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara and Surat.

5. This expressway will reduce the travel distance between Delhi and Mumbai by 12% from 1,424 km to 1,242 km.

6. Travel time between Delhi and Mumbai will be reduced by 50% from 24 hours to 12 hours.

7. It is an eight-lane expressway, which can be easily extended to 12 lanes.

8. The expressway will also serve 93 PM Gati Shakti economic nodes, 13 seaports, 8 major airports and 8 Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLP).

9. It is being built as part of the first phase of the 'Bharatmala Project'.
