Earthquake has caused huge devastation in Turkey.
New Delhi :
The terrible earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria in the early hours of February 6 also brought many lessons with it.
In such a situation, it should be known what message the earth is giving us.
Turkey and its surroundings is the Anatolian Plate.
Two big plates, the Arabian Plate and the Eurasian Plate, are under constant pressure on it.
As a result of this pressure, an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude occurred in the early hours of February 6.
The area where the earthquake occurred is near the East Anatolian Fault.
Later came the aftershocks.
An aftershock was also of 7.5 magnitude.
The magnitude of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake can be gauged from the fact that it caused the Anatolian plate to move three meters westward.
There was so much energy in that earthquake that it shifted three meters of a large land area.
Because of this, there was a huge devastation in Turkey and Syria.
If we look at the world, then there is no one surface in the earth, there are many faults in it.
The surface is broken in many places which appear in the form of different tectonic plates.
Many of these tectonic plates are coming closer to each other.
Some are going too far.
Those who are coming closer are worrying more.

If we look at the Indian plate, it is continuously colliding with the Eurasian plate upwards.
The result of this is that there is a danger of earthquake in the Himalayas.
If we look at the reason for the formation of the Himalayas in the past, Laurasia and Gondwana separated from each other in the geological past.
After that the tectonic plates started moving away from each other.
Then they started coming closer to each other.
The result of this process is the Indian Plate which collided with the Eurasian Plate and the result of this collision is the formation of the Himalayas.
The two plates put so much pressure on each other that the middle part kept climbing up and became the Himalayas.
This process is still going on.
Under the ground, these two plates are colliding with each other.
The Himalayan arc is very sensitive to earthquakes due to the collision of two plates.
Many major earthquakes have occurred in this region.
