Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shukri as part of his business trip to Egypt.

According to the information provided to APA by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the parties recalled with pleasure the visit of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan in January of this year, and noted that such high-level exchanges of visits are important for the development of relations.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that importance was attached to the development of historical friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt and the expansion of cooperation in various fields.

The opportunities for cooperation between our countries at the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international levels were reviewed, and the importance of mutual support was discussed.

In this regard, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated the importance of the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku on the fight against COVID-19 in March.

During the meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov informed his colleague about the initiatives of our country in the direction of establishing peace, security and cooperation in the post-conflict period in the region.

Despite these efforts, he noted that Armenia continues to cause provocations and undermine the process.

The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in commercial-economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, and other issues of mutual interest.
