In Turkey and Syria, more than 33 thousand people were found dead due to the earthquake.

Thousands of rescuers are sorting through the rubble in the affected regions and trying to find survivors.

This was reported by the Financial Times.

Some locals are rescued from the rubble after 150 hours in a trap.

In particular, a 7-year-old boy and an 85-year-old woman were recently freed in Haitai province.

"Canteens" were created for local residents along the road.

However, the security situation is deteriorating against the background of looting. 

In the ten affected provinces of Turkey, schools were closed until early spring.

Some universities are switching to online learning and providing dormitories to accommodate those affected.

In the rest of the regions, educational institutions plan to open on February 20, Turkish Minister of Education Mahmut Ozer announced.

Turkish authorities have declared a state of emergency in 10 provinces.

According to the WHO, the number of victims in Turkey and Syria 

is about 26 million people.
