This was stated by the coordinator of the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, writes Ukrinform.

"These are all sovereign decisions.

If a NATO country or even a country that is not part of the Alliance wants to provide Ukraine with such capabilities as fighter jets, it is certainly their decision," the White House representative emphasized.

He commented on statements about Great Britain's readiness to provide training for Ukrainian pilots on jet fighters of NATO standards.

He added that if the Ukrainians are going to get Western planes, they will need to learn how to fly them.

We will remind that earlier the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz

Morawiecki, said that the decision on the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine should be made by the North Atlantic Alliance

.

At the same time, the media previously wrote that

Washington will not prohibit allies from supplying F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine

But

military experts believe that Ukraine may receive F-16 fighters earlier than expected
