[Reporter Luo Xinzhen/Pingtung Report] The 100-year-old earthquake hit the border between Turkey and Syria a few days ago, and the Pingtung special search team has also gone to the local area for disaster relief. In order to pray for the safety of Turkey, the Pingtung Lantern Festival lights up the Turkish blue in the 3D water dance in Fuxing Park, which is for the local people. The people prayed, expecting to pass on profound blessings to Turkey.

Pingtung County Mayor Zhou Chunmi said that when the 9.21 earthquake occurred in Taiwan, the Turkish rescue team extended a helping hand to rescue Taiwan. Many people still remember it in their hearts. Now that Turkey is in trouble, it is Taiwan's turn to give back.

In addition to dispatching search and rescue teams for disaster relief, Pingtung also lit up the Turkish blue at the water dance performance in Fuxing Park to pray for Turkey.

The Ping county government stated that Turkish blue is a color full of meaning for Turkey. In addition to being a country surrounded by the sea on three sides, there is also a blue mosque, because the walls of the mosque are all decorated with blue and white Iznik tiles. The blue eye stone made of turkey jade is also regarded by the local people as a symbol of good luck and can bring peace.

Therefore, the county government specially combined the water dance show in Fuxing Park with Turkish blue to hope that Turkey can overcome this difficulty as soon as possible. Just like the peace and luck symbolized by this color, it gathers hope and the centripetal force of Taiwanese people through light and shadow, and invites county residents to respond. Blessing activities, pray for Turkey together, and offer the most sincere blessings.

Two search and rescue teams from Taiwan also set off to the disaster-stricken area two days ago to participate in the rescue. Pingtung Special Search 40 people supported my country’s second echelon of humanitarian aid to Turkey. They set sail by Turkish Airlines late at night. We will enter the disaster area as quickly as possible and start rescue operations without delay.

Zhou Chunmi did not forget to remind the search and rescue team that the local aftershocks continue and the weather is extremely cold, so adequate work must be done to keep warm. While rescuing people, they must also pay attention to their own safety and return to Taiwan safely.
