On February 11, 1807, Napoleon Orda

was born in Varatsevichy, Pinsk District , a

Belarusian artist, writer, composer and teacher.

Horde is also known as Rebel.

He was expelled from Vilnius University for participating in a secret student society, spent 15 months in prison.

During the uprising of 1830-31, he commanded a partisan detachment, received the Order of the Golden Cross and the rank of captain of the rebel army.

After the defeat of the uprising, Napoleon Orda spent 24 years in France, was the director of the Italian Opera in Paris, but returned to his native Varatsevichi in 1856.

He died in 1883.

He was buried in the family crypt in Yanav, in the current Ivacevitsky district.
