The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, declared a "difficult phase" in relations with Germany.

He noted that it often takes a long time to convince Sholtz to hand over weapons to Ukraine.

He said this in an interview with the German publication Spiegel.

The President noted that the relations between Ukraine and Germany are "wave-like".

Now they are in a difficult phase due to several weeks of negotiations on the transfer of Western tanks to Ukraine.

"I have to convince him to help Ukraine and constantly prove to him that this help is not for us, but for the Europeans," the president emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that he is very grateful to Germany for the air defense systems that saved many lives of Ukrainians.

It will be recalled that the President of Ukraine met with Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz in Paris.

The leaders of the states discussed the transfer of arms to Ukraine and the Ukrainian "peace formula".

After this meeting, the Chancellor of Germany emphasized at a press conference with Zelensky that Russia should not win the war.

On February 9, at a summit in Brussels, Olaf Scholz said that Germany provides the most aid to Ukraine of all the countries of the European Union.
