On the basis of the results of a secret vote, the Armenian parliament deprived the representative of the "Armenia" faction, the former director of the "Izmirlyan" medical center, Armen Charchyan of parliamentary immunity.

68 deputies participated in the voting, 67 of them voted in favor of the decision.

It was noted that the purpose of taking this step is to initiate a criminal investigation against him.

Charchyan was ordered not to leave the country.

It should be noted that the Prosecutor General of the country, Anna Vardapetyan, addressed the parliament with a corresponding petition.

Charchyan was charged with bribery and pressure on voters during his tenure as the director of the medical center.
