British intelligence officers emphasize that the weather continues to play a significant role

during

Russia 's war in Ukraine.

That is why it will be difficult to conduct large-scale offensive operations in mid-late March.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.

Currently, it is cold in the eastern regions, but warming is forecast next week.

It is noted that since the ground is frozen, during the last weeks, the conditions of movement over rough terrain have practically not changed.

For example, on the eve of February 8, 2023, the surface temperature was about 0 degrees Celsius.

However, forecasts of weather forecasters for the next week foresee an increase in soil temperature and melting of snow.

According to British experts, this will probably worsen the conditions of movement over rough terrain in Donbas.

According to intelligence, travel conditions may be at their worst due to heavy mud in mid to late March.

This is why commanders on both sides will try to avoid planning major offensives at such a time.

"However, likely political or operational opportunities may outweigh these fears, as shown by the Russian invasion at the end of February 2022," the British Ministry of Defense notes.

We will remind you that the former commander of the US forces in Europe, Ben Godges, is skeptical that

the enemy's new attack on Ukraine will be of any significance

.

According to him, despite the fact that the Russians managed to accumulate a lot of manpower, the offensive requires equipment and supply chains.
