The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Affairs, Joseph Borrell, called the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria a tragedy.

APA reports that Borrell told reporters before the EU Council summit.

"Yesterday, I visited the Turkish embassy and expressed my condolences. This is a great tragedy. Europe has mobilized to support Turkey and Syria in this situation, medical personnel, rescuers, and necessary supplies are being sent," Borrell said.
