Russian oppositionist and publicist Andriy Piontkovskyi said that Ukraine's Western partners have lifted the last taboo for the state - regarding the restriction on striking Russian territory with weapons transferred by them.

Piontkovskyi told about this on the air of the TV channel "Freedom".

 about the possibility of transferring its long-range missiles.

"Ukraine will have airplanes one way or another. In my opinion, a colossal breakthrough has been made in another way - 

. This weapon is enough for victory. But this limitation - not to use it for strikes on the Russian Federation - did not solve the other the most important problem is 

that are being destroyed by the Russians with impunity," the oppositionist said.

Therefore, he noted that the long-range missiles that Ukraine will receive will also be used for deterrence, as a threat of retaliatory strikes on the infrastructure of Russian cities.

"When Moscow knows that the strikes on Kyiv will be followed by the same strikes on the dual-use objects of the energy and logistics structure of the city of Moscow, then they will think a thousand times whether to continue these attacks or not.

We have seen air defense systems , not very effective, by the way. They dragged the "shell" to the roof of the General Staff," Piontkovsky pointed out.

It will be recalled that on February 4, the US Ministry of Defense confirmed that they will transfer long-range GLSDB missiles to Ukraine in a new package of military aid to liberate the territories of the state.

In addition, on February 8, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised to strengthen Ukraine's air defense system and announced discussions on providing the country with long-range missiles.

According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, the state will not use long-range weapons from the United States for strikes on the territory of Russia.

These weapons will be directed only at enemy units in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

And later, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Oleksiy Danilov, said that Ukraine has its own weapons for hitting targets on the territory of Russia.
