Toivo Klaar, the special representative of the European Union (EU) on the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, announced the details of his meeting with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports that Toivo Klaar told Georgia's Public channel that he and Irakli Garibashvili discussed Georgia's mediation efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Klaar expressed hope that the cooperation between the EU and the three countries of the South Caucasus will further increase.

He added that it is important for all three countries to make joint efforts to achieve peace in the region

"It is very important for the three countries of the South Caucasus to work together and promote peace, and here Georgia, which plays the role of a bridge between Azerbaijan and Armenia, is very important. The Prime Minister and I discussed the steps taken for this purpose, and I hope that in the future, the EU and Georgia, the EU and there will be more cooperation between the three countries of the South Caucasus", said the special representative.

Toivo Klaar said that it is important to hold the meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Tbilisi, and Georgia can still host high-level meetings in various formats.

He added that all three countries located in the same place should try to cooperate in other areas such as transport, energy, environmental protection.

"I see great potential for this now and in the future," Klaar said.
