Seconds after the serious accident on July 5 last year, an eyewitness saw a man running away from the scene of the accident.

This is what the former police officer from the 4th RU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sofia, Miroslav Yakimov, told the court.

He indicated that the eyewitness in question had long hair and was standing in a nearby street.

Then the eyewitness got lost in the commotion, Yakimov said.

He testified in the case against Georgi Semerdzhiev, defendant for the serious accident in which two young women died.

Yakimov said that on the night of the accident, he was at work and at around 11:00 p.m. he received a report of an accident at the intersection of "Cherni Vrah" Blvd. and "Arsenalski" Blvd.

When they reached the place, they were met there by a man in white clothes who introduced himself as a military prosecutor.

There was commotion and many people gathered.

After that, he also spoke with Simona Radeva (also a witness in the case), with whom he still lives.

She had forgotten her keys in the car wash and was going to get them, Yakimov said.

He added that he still used the car wash several times, which later became clear that it was managed by Semerdzhiev.

Yakimov said that he knew Semerdzhiev by face from random meetings, which he later clarified were checks.

Asked how exactly he remembered him, Yakimov said that it was because of Semerdzhiev's specific appearance.

On the night of the accident, the jeep was crushed beyond recognition, but he was impressed by a specific rim that resembled those on Semerdzhiev's cars, writes BTA.

The hearing in the case continues.
