Today's offensive of Russia in the Bakhmut and Ugledar directions, attempts to advance on Zaporizhzhia - this is the offensive that the mass media talked about incessantly.

Military analyst and Israel Defense Forces officer Yigal Levin told Channel 24 about this.

The expert said that the military logic, according to which the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine works, involves consideration of any options of the Russian offensive, "even the most fantastic ones."

Therefore, it is worth considering the possibility of an offensive by the occupiers in different directions,

on Odesa, Kyiv, an offensive from Belarus,

etc.

But at the same time, it is necessary to assess the probability of such attacks.

At the same time, Levin is convinced that Russia will lack weapons and supplies to repeat the offensive that took place on February 24, 2022.

"It seems to me that the offensive that is taking place now is the offensive that was talked about earlier.

The Russians do not have the strength for more.

Not in the sense of people, but they have neither equipment, nor means of communication, nor general support, nor logistics," said an Israeli officer.

He clarified that mobilization in Russia alone is not enough, because the mobilized must be organized and provided with all the necessary means.

Levin noted that "the Russians are not just bad at this, but terrible."

We will remind you that the day before Ukrainian intelligence identified three possible directions of a new offensive of Russian troops: Donetsk region, Luhansk region and Zaporizhzhia.

At the same time, it is expected that the occupiers will be on the defensive in Kherson Oblast and Crimea.

According to Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, the enemy may try to go on the offensive in the Kharkiv or Zaporizhzhia regions.

A member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Fedir Venislavskyi, said on February 8 that the threat of an attack by the Russian Federation currently exists only in the Eastern and Southern directions.

It should be noted that the ex-commander of US forces in Europe, retired general Ben Godges, expressed his skepticism that Russia's new offensive will be of any significance.
