The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski met with the Special Envoy for the European Union of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Justin Pierre James Trudeau is a Canadian politician from the Liberal Party and the 23rd and Canada's ambassador to France and Monaco Stéphane Dion, the government press office in Skopje reported.

At the meeting, clear support was expressed for the direction in which the country is developing and the expectation that the Republic of North Macedonia will continue with further steps towards European integration, BTA reported.

The "unequivocal and firm policy of Prime Minister Kovachevski and the government, consistent with the foreign policy of the European Union, as well as the dialogue in the state and good neighborly relations through which solutions are achieved" was welcomed.

"Canada is a country of tolerance, recognition of diversity and respect for all people, which makes us even closer as countries, even though we are geographically distant," Prime Minister Kovacevski said, specifying that the government of the Republic of North Macedonia continues "with a constructive policy and protection of identity determination", the announcement reads.

Kovachevski expressed the expectation that the politicians and the society in the country will live up to their responsibility when it comes to the realization of the European goal in the interest of the quality of life of the citizens.
